Who we are

The overpopulation of street animals in Portugal is a reality. Animal rescue shelters lack the financial and human resources to address the fundamental issue of hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats continuously breeding in public spaces.

These animals live without access to basic healthcare, sufficient food, shelter or comfort; victims of hunger, disease and mistreatment, condemned to short lives without quality.

The Animais de Rua Association was created precisely to reduce the suffering of these homeless animals and prevent more from being born into these conditions.
